Introduction
At Algoel Technologies, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our mobile application News App Flash (the “App”).
Information We Do NOT Collect
We believe in minimal data exposure and maximum user control. News App Flash does not:
- Collect Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as your name, email address, physical address, or phone number.
- Require user registration, accounts, passwords, or authentication credentials.
- Track, log, or store your GPS, fine, or coarse geographic location.
- Access your contacts, microphone, camera, photos, or personal media files.
- Build user profiles, behavioral tracking data, or targeted advertising analytics.
Information Handled Locally on Your Device
Bookmarks & Saved Articles
When you save or bookmark an article, this information is stored locally on your device using on-device secure storage (SQLite / SharedPreferences). This data never leaves your device and is not synchronized to any external server or cloud service.
App Preferences
Settings such as theme preference (Dark Mode / Light Mode) are stored strictly on your local device.
Uninstalling / Clearing Data
You can delete all locally saved bookmarks and preferences at any time by clearing the App's data in Android Settings or uninstalling the App.
Network Requests & Third-Party Services
To provide news headlines and updates, the App communicates with the following external services:
The App fetches publicly available RSS feeds from Google News to deliver live news headlines from Bangladeshi publishers. No personal identifiers are transmitted during these requests.
When you tap on a flashcard to view the full article, the article is displayed via an in-app web browser directly from the publisher's website. The publisher's own privacy policy and cookie practices apply while viewing their webpage.
The App checks Google Play Store services to determine whether a newer version of the App is available and to prompt mandatory updates.
Permissions Requested
News App Flash requests only minimal, necessary system permissions:
android.permission.INTERNETRequired to fetch news feeds and display news articles from publishers.
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATERequired to monitor network connectivity so the App can display offline notices and retry when internet is restored.
The App does not request background location, storage access, microphone, camera, or telephony permissions.
Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
News App Flash is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions).
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will take appropriate measures.
Data Security
Because we do not operate a backend server to store your personal data, your risk of server-side data breach is virtually non-existent. All network communications for news feeds are performed over encrypted HTTPS connections.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
